Tomika joins Not A Great Whisperer Podcast to talk about finally stepping into her own in 2020 and being exactly who she wanted to be. She was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She discusses her many titles in her journey as a daughter, mother of 5 kids ages 8-25, wife, autism mom, patient advocate, and concierge business and faja boutique owner. Suffering from depression and anxiety is an everyday battle, and being the glue that holds everything together takes a toll on your life. Tomika has been working to change laws on a national level to bring awareness, educate, protect and provide necessary tools for self-advocacy to individuals on a quest to better themselves using cosmetic surgical and non-surgical means. A huge part of her story was being an integral part of shutting down Combi, a Tampa factory and only lead smelter in the area, after she answered the door for 3 Tampa Bay Times reporters. She told her story about the led exposure and how it has affected her entire family. She is a voice for those families that are afraid to speak up against this large company. This story is reflected in the Pulitzer Prize award series “Poisoned.” Enjoy the real, unedited conversation with Tomika and Katy.
