Not A Great Whisperer
Episode 120: Breaking the Stereotype, with Amanda LaCount
/

Amanda LaCount joins Not A Great Whisperer Podcast to talk to us about her passion for dance and her goal to inspire others to follow their dreams. Amanda is a dancer, choreographer, model and influencer at a very young age and continues to motivate others from every age and background that you can be whatever you want to be. She has danced since the age of 2 years old and has 6 older brothers and sisters. Amanda’s movement #breakingthestereotype promotes body positivity and the belief that any “body” can be a dancer. She took on this challenge of changing people’s minds about what a dancer should look like and continues to do what she loves while educating others. She felt this first hand when she was kicked out of an audition at the age of 11 in Colorado, when the teacher(a mentor of hers) kicked her out because she was not a fit for the dancer role. She moved to LA at the age of 13 with her mom because she knew her talent would get her to where she wanted to go. She continued to go to school and work hard at her dance classes and auditions. She reminds us that as a kid we have all the confidence in the world and then we allow other people’s opinions to creep in and change who we are. She continues to be the girl with confidence and strives everyday to be amazing and show others that nobody can tell you who you can be. To name a few, she has landed performances for Rihanna’s “Savage X Fenty” Show (twice), dancing with Zoe Wees at music awards, dancing with Lizzo at Coachella, with Meghan Trainor at Radio Disney Music Awards, and music videos for Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, and lots of other performances. Enjoy the real, unedited conversation with Amanda LaCount and Katy Rey.
